Alpha Team K9 Search and Rescue
Alpha Team K9 Search and Rescue (ATSAR) has a mission to train, certify, and deploy highly qualified search dog teams and drone operators to assist law enforcement and other public safety agencies in the search for missing persons.
These search dog teams and drone operators have saved public safety agencies millions of dollars through the use of volunteer resources. All ATSAR services provided to requesting agencies and to the family of the lost person are free of charge. No person or agency is ever charged or billed for ATSAR’s services.
ATSAR members incur all costs including gas, vehicles, training, equipment, and dog expenses. We rely on donations from the community to continue supplying this vital service.
Missing a pet? Alpha Team does not rescue pets. HomeAgain can help.
AIR SCENT DOGS
Can cover many acres of the assigned search area daily (depending on weather and terrain). They are helpful in wilderness and large suburban areas, which are typical for ATSAR's area of operation.
TRAILING DOGS
Essential to establishing higher probability search sectors based on the direction of travel of the missing person. Search and rescue trailing dogs are crucial in the early minutes and hours of a reported absence.
WATER CADAVER DOGS
Trained to pinpoint missing persons in water recoveries, and are extremely helpful to law enforcement / coroner teams. Water human remains detection (HRD) dogs are key resources for agencies tasked with recovering the bodies.
LAND CADAVER DOGS
Used for cold cases in the wilderness, disasters such as fire or mudslides, suspected clandestine graves, and other criminal scenarios.
DRONES
Drones offer rapid aerial, underwater, and thermal imaging for locating individuals and assessing areas, improving SAR efficiency and safety.
